In a letter dated 21st June 2024, GES releases the application process, course(subject) allocations, deadline, approved subject of study. Ghana's Hans Kwofie dies in car crash.

 Former Ghana Premier League star Hans Kwofie dies in car crash. Ghanaian striker Hans Kwofie has tragically lost his life in a car accident in Dadwen, in the Ashanti region, on Friday. The 35-year-old footballer was on his way to his hometown of Dompim Pepesa when the accident occurred, resulting in his immediate death, according to Ghanasoccernet. Kwofie gained prominence in the Ghana Premier League, particularly for his remarkable performance in 2017 when he emerged as the league’s top scorer with 17 goals for AshantiGold.  Possible Cancellation of July 2024 BECE – WAEC. The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) says the impending Basic  Education Certificate Examination (BECE), scheduled for July 2024, faces possible cancellation due to severe funding challenges. The council has expressed grave concerns about the government’s failure to release critical funds needed for the preparation and administration of the exams. As the exam date approaches, time is running out for the purchase of necessary logistics. However, the Vice Chairman of the committee, Dr Prince Hamidu Armah, has downplayed the seriousness of the government’s indebtedness, arguing that such situations have been the status quo for the past decade.  ECG and GRIDCo announces 3 weeks dumsor due to gas challenge from Nigeria. POWER SUPPLY ISSUES: GAS CHALLENGE FROM NIGERIA Accra, Thursday, 13th June, 2024 The Ghana Grid Company LTD. (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana, (ECG) wish to inform the public that due to a reduction in gas supply from Nigeria since yesterday, Wednesday 12th June, 2024 some areas across the country have experienced interruption in power supply. The West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo), in a statement, has explained that the reduction in gas supply was due to maintenance works being undertaken by a gas supplier in Nigeria and is projected to last three (3) weeks. The maintenance has caused a reduction in overall power generation capacity in Ghana which could result in load management over the period of the work.
