NACCA Releases New Literature TextBook For Basic Schools.

INTRODUCTION OF THE BEACON OF LIGHT AS THE APPROVED LITERATURE TEXT FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS. The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) wishes to inform all learners, teachers, and stakeholders in the education sector that the literature book titled The Beacon of Light, authored by Joshlyn Yayra Diabo, Adam Ankrah, Bryte Okrah, and Lucas Zanyoh has been officially approved as the prescribed literature text for Junior High Schools across the country.  An additional resource that accompanies the book is The Beacon of Light Commentary, authored by Victoria Stevens, Dr. Jemima Larteley Mensah and Very Rev.  Possible Cancellation of July 2024 BECE – WAEC. The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) says the impending Basic  Education Certificate Examination (BECE), scheduled for July 2024, faces possible cancellation due to severe funding challenges. The council has expressed grave concerns about the government’s failure to release critical funds needed for the preparation and administration of the exams. As the exam date approaches, time is running out for the purchase of necessary logistics. However, the Vice Chairman of the committee, Dr Prince Hamidu Armah, has downplayed the seriousness of the government’s indebtedness, arguing that such situations have been the status quo for the past decade.
