NTC provides new update on Teacher Portal Ghana.

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has released an important update to the Ghana Education Service and teachers on the Teacher Portal Ghana (TPG) it manages.

In a letter dated 22nd April, 2024 sighted by the Ghana Education news, the NTC indicated that it has updated the Teacher Portal Ghana to appropriately integrate Professional Learning Communities into the CPD point system on the portal.

It further requested that the GES informs all and sundry including all Regional Directors, District Directors and Heads of Pre-tertiary Institutions.

With the new update teachers and managers at the national, regional and district levels will be able to register on the portal, update their record and enter or allocate PLC points.

The letter furthered that the CBI will be changed to National Continuous Professional Day which will be marked every quarter. According to the NTC, teachers would have to wait up to 10th May 2024 to see their points loaded on their dashboard.

Below are the full details of the letter.

Per the new updated effected on the update on Teacher Portal Ghana, the NTC indicated as follows.

SBI, and DBI on TPG platform will be changed to PLCs (Professional Learning Communities). Similarly, CBI will be changed to National Continuous Professional Day which will be organized once in every 3 months.

This change will be implemented from 1st May 2024 and aims to align the platform with current educational practices and standards.

Heads of Second Cycle Institutions are required to have active teacher accounts on the TPG platform to be able to allocate PLC points as account holders.

Therefore, SHS heads who do
have active teacher accounts TPG should visit https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh/account/register to sign up as teachers not on the platform.

It furthered that Heads of Second Cycle Institutions who have active accounts on the portal but are not account holders should visit https://bit.ly/3VUKKIe for setup.

Again, all District Directors are required to ensure that all basic schools are assigned with account holders on the TPG platform.
District Directors who are not yet registered on the TPG platform should provide their details
via https://bit.ly/3VRypEV for setup.

INSETS will be replaced with PLCs, therefore, all ongoing INSET (In-Service Education and
Training) records will be changed to PLCs on the TPG platform.

PLCs records would need to be processed every week by the account holders for teachers to
get their points.

PLC points allocation deadlines will be extended after the update to allow account holders the
necessary time to allocate points for their teachers.

Teachers would have to wait up to 10th May 2024 to see their points on their dashboard.
